2023 Lexus RZ 450e
With 312 total system horsepower, the all-electric Lexus RZ 450E is as powerful as any gas-powered vehicle, perhaps even more so. The instant power comes from the 71.4 kWh battery paired with a 150-kW motor in the front and an 80-kW rear motor. With a range of up to 225 miles, it’s easier than ever to travel on electricity. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission will help power you forward and deliver a smooth, comfortable ride for everyone inside. This powerful SUV allows you to go from zero to 60 mph in an estimated 5.2 seconds.
A newly developed high-output electronic axle fully integrates the transaxle, motor, and inverter to benefit your spacious interior, superb design, and of course, your electric cruise range. DIRECT4 is an all-wheel-drive system that uses information including acceleration, speed, and steering angle to improve handling stability, start-up acceleration, and low power consumption.
Highly Intuitive Technology
Sustainability and style have intertwined to bring you the all-new Lexus 450E. Inside, you’ll find highly intuitive technology features and options designed to improve your driving experience. Thanks to available Intelligent Assistant integration, Lexus Interface is more accurate and involved than ever before. This system will allow you to control most vehicle features with only your voice and recognize more of what you want as it gets smarter over time.
A 14-inch touch-screen display will enable you to access anything you need quickly. A cloud-based navigation system will provide real-time route information and more accurate directions. You can connect with the wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto, and wireless Apple CarPlay. Additional charging and connection options include five USB type-C ports.
A head-up display will show you information from the audio, drive select mode, and navigation systems, so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road. This feature is standard on the Luxury trim level. Lexus engineers have pursued a new in-cabin sound under the Lexus Electrified vision. The New Sound of Lexus conveys the excitement of driving by establishing a dialogue between the RZ and the driver, matching a sound to the current speed and the sound levels during actions such as acceleration.
Refined Interior
The beautifully designed interior of the all-new RZ 450E combines luxurious comfort and high-end design. The digital latch with a safe exit assistance design can prevent doors from opening into traffic and allows you to open them when conditions are determined to be clear. Ambient interior illumination will change the lighting shades projected to add a specific ambiance to your ride.
Seating options for the RX 450E Premium include NuLuxe-trimmed front seats with a Lexus Memory System for the driver’s seat, outside mirrors, and steering wheel. Seats are both heated and ventilated, so you can stay comfortable in any weather. A radiant front knee heater is available for your comfort in cold weather. You’ll even get a heated steering wheel.
The RZ 450E Luxury will include standard features such as the radiant front knee heater and heated rear outboard seats. Instead of NuLuxe seating, you’ll get Ultrasuede-trimmed seats. You can choose your interior colors on either trim with options including Dapple Gray, Orange/Macadamia, and Palomino.
Eloquent Exterior
The eloquent exterior design of the RZ offers seamless lines, attention-grabbing details, and a pure Lexus aesthetic. This new design is available in two trim levels: Premium and Luxury. With the Premium, you’ll get standard features such as 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels in a Dark Metallic Gray and machined finish, a panorama glass roof, and a power rear door with a kick sensor. The Luxury will add 20-inch split 10-spoke wheels with Black and machined finish, acoustic front and rear side glass, door courtesy lamps, and an available dimming glass roof.
Each RZ 450E comes with a Spindle Body instead of the signature Lexus spindle grill. The Spindle Body focuses on aerodynamics, optimized proportions, and style rather than serving an internal combustion engine’s cooling and exhaust needs. This new look opens the door for future electric Lexus vehicles and establishes an entirely new aesthetic.
Lexus Safety Sense+ 3.0 System
You can drive safer thanks to the Lexus Safety Sense+ 3.0 system. This suite is standard on the new RZ and packed with the latest driver assistance features offered by Lexus. Standard features include adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. You’ll also get a driver monitoring system to track your attentiveness and adjust warnings based on whether you’re tired or distracted. If it senses that driving further is no longer advisable, it will bring the vehicle to a stop.
Also included are lane departure warnings, rear cross-traffic warnings, and blind spot warnings. Automated parking is available and will remotely park in perpendicular and parallel spaces and has the ability to back into parking spots too.
