Advanced Airbag System
Lexus Safety Features
Each Lexus vehicle features a high-strength frame and advanced airbag system to help protect you and your passengers should your Lexus be involved in a collision. You get a 10-airbag system, including two front impact airbags, two front, and two rear roof-mounted side-curtain airbags, and two front and two rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags.
Standard Safety Features
Your Lexus has many features that contribute to your safety, such as a four-wheel anti-lock braking system with brake assist and an electronic brakeforce distribution that helps you stop on a dime when needed. Vehicle stability and traction control systems work hard to keep you on your intended path. The tire pressure monitoring system helps keep your tire pressure safe.
Additional Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Your Lexus may also include a digital rearview mirror that lets you see what’s behind your vehicle, even when the cargo area of your Lexus is full. Parking sensors are designed to help you get your Lexus into tight spots or warn you of obstacles around your vehicle that you may not see. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert warns you about vehicles in your blind spot during lane changes. It also warns you of objects behind your vehicle when in reverse.

Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection
Using radar and camera capabilities, your Lexus can detect an impending collision and alert you to it or apply the brakes in certain situations. The Lexus forward collision mitigation system includes pedestrian detection to locate pedestrians in the daytime and low-light conditions, as well as bicyclists in daylight. When an impending collision, bicyclist, or pedestrian is detected, this driver assistance feature can help steer your vehicle out of the way or apply the brakes to bring your Lexus to a complete stop.
Lane Departure Alert
Lane departure alert uses your vehicle’s camera system to detect the visible yellow and white lines on the roadway to help keep your vehicle in your lane. If you start deviating from your lane, this feature will visually and audibly alert you and remind you to check your position and adjust as necessary.
Lane Departure Alert With Steering Assist
The added feature of steering assist to the lane departure alert not only alerts you visually and audibly to check your lane position, but it can also gently steer your Lexus back into your lane.
Lane Departure Alert With Steering Assist and Lane-Keep Assist
Lane-keep assist, added to the lane departure alert with steering assist, is used when your dynamic radar cruise control is on to help keep you in the correct lane. You must be holding the steering wheel for this feature to work.
Intelligent High Beams
Your Lexus can automatically change from dim to bright headlights using intelligent high beams, allowing you to keep your focus on the road ahead. When your Lexus detects headlights or taillights ahead of you, it will switch from high-beam mode to low beams to keep from blinding other drivers on the road.
High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
When you set the cruise control on your Lexus, the high-speed dynamic radar cruise control will automatically maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. This system adjusts your vehicle’s speed within a set range, using your in-vehicle camera and a grille-mounted millimeter-wave radar to decelerate when necessary to keep you at a safe following distance.
All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
The all-speed dynamic radar cruise control system upgrades the high-speed system by detecting other vehicles at any speed and adjusting your speed accordingly. This system works to maintain a safe following distance in stop-and-go traffic, as well as at highway speeds.
Lexus Safety System + 2.0 and 2.5
The Lexus Safety Systems + 2.0 and 2.5 add two additional features to the driver-assistance lineup in your Lexus:
Road Sign Assist
The built-in camera in your Lexus can detect and read road sign information to alert you of specific detected signs to keep you from missing them. Your Lexus will recognize speed limit signs, stop signs, do not enter signs, and yield signs to help keep you safer on the road.
Lane-Tracing Assist
When using all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, lane-tracing assist monitors lane markings to keep you centered in your lane. Lane-tracing assist uses steering assistance to help keep you between the lines.
Lexus Safety System + 3.0
You get two additional driver-assistance features on the Lexus Safety System 3.0:
Curve Speed Management Added to Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
With curve speed management added to dynamic radar cruise control, your Lexus uses radar and cameras to detect upcoming curves and adjust your speed appropriately. This system can lower your speed automatically as you go around a curve.
Additional Intersection Support
Your Lexus can detect motorcycles, bicyclists, and other vehicles at intersections to help you stay safe when coming off a stop sign or light.
Standard Safety Systems for 2022 Lexus Vehicles
The Lexus Safety System + is standard on the GX, LC, RC, and RCF. You get the Lexus Safety System + 2.0 on the UX, RX, and RXL. The Lexus Safety System + 2.5 is found on the LX, ES, IS, and LS. The only 2022 vehicle with the Lexus Safety System + 3.0 is the NX.
