DMV Clerk

About The Job:
 
We are currently seeking a DMV Clerk with the drive and determination to succeed, as well as the ability to meet customer needs. The DMV Clerk is responsible for processing and reviewing car deals for the dealership for proper completion and accuracy before submitting to the Department of Motor Vehicles
 
General Summary of Responsibilities:
 
      • Processes all new and used vehicle registration for the state in which they will be titled.
      • Prepares tax and title documents.
      • Submits all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
      • Posts, reconciles and balances designated accounts and reports any discrepancies.
      • Works closely with contract to ensure pay-offs have been collected before possessing title applications.
      • Maintains DMV log book.
      • Compiles and maintains a list of all outstanding title work.
      • Reports and maintains communications with managers on status of any missing documents or problem titles.
      • Stays abreast of title regulations and changes.
      • Performs general office duties such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
      • Assist in all other areas of the business office and performs other administrative duties, as needed.
      • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions. 
      • Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner
      • Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
Qualifications:
 
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree, desiredA minimum of two (2) years sales experience; with one (1) year of vehicle appraisal experience desired
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in processing DMV and vehicle title documents, preferably for an automotive dealership.
  • Knowledge of Department and Motor Vehicle title processing policies and regulations; dealership policies and lending institution procedures; administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records; and mathematical principles (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, and percentages) and application; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency desired
  • Ability to coordinate activities with other employees; pay attention to detail; follow-up with guests and employees; read and comprehend instructions and information in the English language; work well with the public; communicate in a professional manner on the phone, Internet and in person; and use standard office equipment
